yeah it looks great, just over a century old from the original conflict too. I have been following a little here and there on the game and it looks quite promising. I hope DICE have learned from their previous screwups by releasing BF4 to early because EA wanted them to do so. Hence the game was messed up for a good year after initial release. I still played it a lot despite that. I am looking forward to playing with iron sights and without all the modern goodies like holo scopes etc... . I think anyone running a gtx660 minimum should be ok. I may boost my ram up a bit just to deal with map size better. The game itself looks to be quite historically accurate, I especially like the Vimy Ridge campaign...good ol canadians gettin it done.

it took Dice 2 years post release work to get BF4 up to snuff, so I would assume there would be BF1's fair share of bugs too, especially in the beta/alpha. My kid had a beta key and said it was meh. . Even then there are bugs in BF4's net code like a mofo, I play it as it is a ton of fun. Especially sniping 4-500 meters with bullet drop. 64 man servers are fun too, hop into a 4 man squad with comms, and there are a shitload of options to win with, well at least have fun with

I played the beta and had so much fun with it that I was really at a loss when it ended.

I gotta say, sniping was almost too easy, but it yielded a great KDR for me so I cant really complain. The graphics are outstanding, and running it in DirectX12 using windows 10 makes a world of difference. The feel, and the look of the game is tremendously enhanced using this new element in the BF legacy.

What was actually quite interesting to me was running it in both DirectX 11 & 12 (you can disable or enable it in game) and comparing FPS, GPU\CPU\MEMORY usage, temps voltages etc.

I am very pleased with the game, its efficiency and management of resources, I am really excited and thoroughly impressed.

Maybe wishful thinking, but lets be positive here. Perhaps the creators have learned a thing or two from the community and other developers. Perhaps they will capitalize on all the feedback received in the prime days of BF4. I mean, even for a Beta, it ran incredibly smooth, much smoother than BF4 or Hardline complete games do today. Even BF3, never mind the previous BF betas, so buggy, so limited, so awful. BF1 beta was nearly perfect, and it was a beta lol. The full game will include far more features, and run equally as flawless... far as I can tell anyway, I mean I'm no oracle

However, I state all this behind the helm of a friggin super computer. Running 3way SLI on GTX980 classifieds, a 5960x cpu and 16GB of Cosair dominator platinum ram. Ive got the GPUs overclocked and stable at 1531Mhz with the memory bumped all the way up to 8200Mhz, the CPU is up from 3.0Ghz with a 3.5Ghz turbo clock on the 100Mhz strap to an adaptive 4.6Ghz on the 125Mhz strap, which also allows me to kick my ram timing up from 2133 to 3000. I also put a little umph in to the uncore, overclocking the cpu cache to 4.2 Ghz, this helps with games containing large maps tremendously believe it or not.

Temps on the graphics cards never exceeded 49 degrees Celsius, and I was playing for hours lol. Cpu temps never made it above 61 degrees Celsius, memory ambient temp stayed steady at 50. My pc loved to run the game, it was incredibly smooth with all settings maxed out, ui scale all the way to 0%, and resolution scale set to 60% in 4k (Technically a synthetic or virtual 4k Resolution via Nvidia DSRT) at 3840X2160.

No mouse lag, no keyboard lag, no frame spikes, not skips in high and fast action sequence filled with nearly everything the beta had to offer, audible and visual.

Certainly worth the purchase of a new GPU if you have an older system. Just make sure to check with your Motherboard manufacturer that your board, thru its current bios version is going to be compatible with the newer GPUs. A year ago, my old computer was just three years old. It was a "gaming" computer, store bought, and hp, has a great i5 cpu, the gtx560 and 8gb ddr3 ram. But I could never completely maximize graphic settings, and never had extraordinary performance in demanding titles like BF3 at the time. So, I went out and grabbed a gtx970 raced home, only to be disappointed by the sound of two beeps upon powering my pc up, which indicated that it wasn't going to boot. After hours of research and aggravation, I discovered that my relatively new, yet three year old pc contained a mother board which was no longer receiving bios update support, nor is it compatible with the backwards compatible, pcie 3.0 graphics cards. So, do your homework before you spend any money lol. Don't make that mistake as I did. But I will say, that issue I had putting the 970 in my HP, is what brought about the creation of the beastly rig I have now, and I'm really pleased so.... that just goes to show learning the hard way isn't so bad all the time. Some times mistakes can turn in to incedible positives, equivalent in cost and value lol.

Anyway, get the game, its fun as all hell. It will be even better when we squad up and have some fun together.
