so the other night oldname got me interested in this again, and for those tired of windows and the crap microsoft has been up to the last 5 years, i give you an alternative.
if you only play mohaa, this is perfect for you, if you branch out to other games there may be difficulty in getting those to run well, which is why dual booting is a good idea.
this is my testing data i reported to winehq a couple days ago, not even running proprietary drivers, just a few things wine needed that microsoft makes.

you've probably seen me in the server the last couple days playing for a short time and coming back in, just had to get updated mesa drivers for multiplayer to run smoother, you can get proprietary nvidia or ati drivers.
also teamspeak 3 client is available natively for linux, and i've noticed my ping is lower running the game on a linux install than it is in windows, sometimes 10ms, sometimes 2ms depending on how far away the server is located.
if being able to watch netflix is causing hesitation, there is a application called pipelight that works with firefox to run silverlight DRM applications or you could just use google chrome if your into that browser.
if there are linux newbs here i could post a write up about how to install and use wine, pipelight and maybe some other questions.

Re: MOHAA under wine [Linux]
Even easier on a Mac...
Porting Kit and Standalone Port From paulthetall.com. (I recommend getting both, Porting Kit will update it and at this time displayed MOHAA + expansions which didn't work well)
If you have discs and haven't created a .iso using dd yet... use them then dd a .iso.
With a .iso just mount it and direct the installer.
I just keep a copy of mohaa from my windows machine, and use the import option.
You will need to disable acceleration using killmouseaccel script, the directions are easy, adjust your mouse settings in game and mac to your comfort level.
If the files aren't available, I have them backed up and would share.

Re: MOHAA under wine [Linux]
For those who need it, this is the wrapper for just mohaa, not the warchest.
just right click, show package contents, navigate to the drive_c folder and paste your game, you can put it anywhere like programs or in the drive_c folder won't matter, then just run the mohaa.app and it should ask, if not run wineskin.app and only change the executable file to mohaa.exe
