Let me know if you need any assistance devising a way to parse the data or integrating with the website.

This latest one you posted, we can't use because it requires the Reborn mod, and that's just a non-starter for me.

The original post you made, I did spend some time downloading the files (not so easy, there are a lot of dead links) and trying to figure out how to process the log files. It's not exactly straight forward, especially as we use a lot of maps. I'll try to find the time to figure it out. One thing I don't know is how to integrate the stats into a web site so we can check them out. I'll try to get to it...
I have no idea how either.

I think this would be a good idea, because I do not understand half of what I read.

Are you thinking of reading server logs or do you envision something in real time using remote console? Let me know what you are after and I can try to help figure out what the options are.

ElgBot stats are awesome but yes it requires Reborn.

May i ask why you are against using it?

I might also point out that the latest release will include a ranking system, combat centre ( like xfire to chat ) as well as further anti cheat features like screenshots, server-side demo recording, sv_pure, also selective scanning for cheats like weapon mods, player chams. Not to mention the server protection again mohaa related crashes.

Not to sound pushy, I'm more just interested in people's opinions as to why they don't use Reborn, because i am normally talking to people who do so its good to hear from the other side :P

There are three main reasons I don't want to use Reborn.

1. I already know how to run the server without it. Would have to figure out a new system. Why fix what isn't broken?
2. Most of the features it adds, I'm not too interested in using.
3. I remember all too well what happened to Area 51, when their generals pissed off the wrong people.

Or, if I had to pick one reason, see #3.

1. I see your point there, but it is essentially the same system, most people still use it the same just has the crash/bugs fixed.
2. Most features are not used by many, especially in a stock server. Banning system is the main feature people use in the patch.

II remember #3 aswell, it just had nothing to do with reborn.

Thanks for telling me the reasons, feedback is always good.

It was my understanding that they used exploits in Reborn to take over the server.

Actually it was an old exploit used to get their server.cfg file. Not reborn related at all.

That's why sv_allowdownload is always set to 0 on all servers. I warned them about it, they fixed it but by then I'm sure many people had already used it on their server, then they didn't change their passwords after it.

That was the starting point of it. Then when they pissed him off, he used it. They changed their passwords after that, then he moved onto their website which was less secure.

With regards to reborn, there are no known exploits to it, and none them at would be implemented on purpose, there is only 1 person who actually does the code for reborn, everyone else is in a support capacity and has no access to direct code. A few of us have access to the source code, which we add our own things to but are never added to the release patch.
