Commercials? There are ways around them. I don't see any.

I recommend using Firefox as a browser, for starters.

Then get 2 addons for firefox. First addon is adblock, which will block all popup ads.

Second addon to get is called youtube high definition 40.0. This will automatically select the highest definition for you, and has an option to TURN OFF ALL ANNOTATIONS!

I just can't stand watching youtube without these addons. Commercials and annotation make it suck balls IMO!

And a third addon to consider is called youtube mp3, which will allow you to automatically download an .mp3 or an mpeg of whatever you're watching.

Taken together, these 3 addons turn youtube into an awesome music resource.

Sweet. Thank you HOD. Need to figure out the mp3 thing, but this crappy laptop running ubuntu will not last long.

Yeah, the mp3 addon just gives you a small download button. If you hit it, it opens up another window, automatically converts the audio to an .mp3, and gives a link to download. There's also an option to save the video. It's nice, especially for me because I use my netbook as pretty much a big mp3 player during the summertime.
