1Lb Ground Beef
1 Package (1lb?) Ground Sausage
1/2 Onion
Lots of fresh cut minced garlic is a must
1 Jar of Fire Roasted Tomato & Basil Sauce (I use Bertolli)
1 Jar of Spicy Tomato Sauce
Cayenne Pepper
A Couple dried red peppers chopped up.
and the secret ingredient Jalapeno Juice(The juice from a jar of jalapenos)
First I brown all the meat(season with salt and pepper of course) with the garlic, onion, and peppers. Then I add the 2 jars of sauce, a little Extra Virgin Olive Oil and a few fresh basil leaves to the mix, let that heat up to temp then add a few teaspoons of the jalapeno juice. Season to taste with some garlic salt, EVOO and a more Jalapeno juice if needed.
I realize this is a very unconventional recipe but it makes for an excellent, somewhat spicy and very hearty sauce that I prefer to serve over Angel Hair pasta as the angel hair is not overly starchy and goes very well. Also if you want to go all out grab a loaf of French bread and melt some butter in a sauce pan with minced garlic and oregano and spread that over the French bread, top with mozzarella and pop it in the oven for some amazing garlic bread to accompany the pasta.
