Yeah, I tested it, and was getting about 400 on average, but would spike up to 2000. Just not had the time or felt like playing lately. Roommate works graveyards, so I have to get her to work then crash when I get home so I can go get her in the mornings. Time she learns to drive, lol.

You don't want your FPS going that high. Set the com_maxfps to 300. It will show as 420 max fps on your screen.

I couldn't remember what to set it at, thanks. Had planned on playing last night, but some idiot broke the cable lines and some power lines, so I ended up with no net while 1 block over had no power. Maybe after I take roomie to work tonight I can come play.

Nice machine, stormy :D... what did you have before?

About the fps, I think 60fps is more than enough. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference between that and 400. Actually, if what you are looking for is fluidity (which is different from insanely high fps), you should active vsync. Vsync (vertical synchronization) will automatically match your fps to the refresh rate of your screen (probably 60hz) so everytime your gpu draws a frame, it does it as the instruction to refresh the screen is sent . However, doing that causes a small lag-like effect, which I never really got accustomed to.

Below are the specs of my laptop, which I mostly use for architectural 3d modeling and rendering. You can guess it's not very portable and that battery doesn't last long.

GTX 780m 4gb VRDM DDR5 X2 SLI
Intel Core i7-4700MQ 2.4-3.0ghz
32gb DDR3 RAM
120gb SSD x2 RAID 0 (OS)
1000gb 7200RPM x2 RAID 0 (files)

I had a non upgrade-able all in one, with onboard video card. The graphics were horrible, I could not run one adobe product without the system freezing up, and during the game it was constant up and down with response rate. I am not as concerned with the fps as I am the ability to actually do the things I need to do for my tiny little not really there company to try and start making money. Right now, due to that horrible comp, my business has sat on the shelf.
